Welcome
Red Sand Cottage is a 25 acre permaculture homestead site in Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada. We're on the western side of the island within easy walking distance of a beautiful beach. Why not come visit? In the Summer (Jun - Sep) we are open every day from 10am until 5pm.
There is a lot of work in progress, but you are welcome to visit us during summer opening hours to see examples of permaculture and the developing gardens and woodland. If you would like an accompanied site visit, or if you would like to arrange a visit out of summer opening hours, please arrange ahead.

Autumn Craft Shop Hours
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 10 am - 6 pm, although this is a little flexible to fit around our other commitments. To be sure please telephone 902 882 3107 to check if we're open, especially if you are travelling any distance.
If you would like to visit outside of these hours please call or e-mail ahead or use our booking form below - thanks!
We anticipate being closed in the winter from Jan-May, except for a few snowshoe events which will be advertised in the events section and a variety of workshops which will also be advertised.
May we ask for your understanding? i.e. in some cases we get unexpected visitors who would like an accompanied site visit when we are either working in the craft shop, otherwise working on site or even enjoying some leisure time and so are unable to accommodate them at that time. An accompanied site visit requires a little more planning, so please arrange ahead of time. Also, please understand that, whilst we are happy to show you our alternative energy systems, compare notes and generally share encouragement, we are not renewable energy experts and cannot give in-depth installation advice.
